Planning and preparations are well underway for the 14th edition of the Festiv'Art, the largest open-air art gallery in Quebec. As always, our goal is to promote the region's talented artists.

The Festiv'Art is a unique event, an outdoor festival that takes over the streets, sidewalks, and galleries of the picturesque village of Frelighsburg.

More than 3,000 works of art are presented from a roster of 125 visual artists. In recent years, the Festiv'Art has attracted up to 20,000 art lovers and collectors, generating sales of over $200,000, making it it one of the most successful and prestigious festivals in its category.

At less than an hour from Montreal, Festiv'Art visitors will be also discover that Frelighsburg is one of the most beautiful villages in Quebec.

The organizing committee is pleased to invite you to attend the 14th edition of Festiv'Art which will take place on 4-5 September 2009 and 6.

Your participation is essential to the success of this 14th edition which will delight us once more. Remember that space is limited, so do not delay in registering!

A selection committee will evaluate each case for its quality and originality.

Ms. Françoise Sullivan will be the artist to be honored at Art Center Frelighsburg.

From 4 to 27 September 2009.

Sullivan will present a series of recent works in painting, prints and an album, limited edition run of choreography:''The Seasons''performed in 2007 in Montreal.

A series of archival audio-visual, on its exceptional and rich 60 years of practice, will be presented in a loop.

A lecture-meeting talk in the presence of the artist is also on the agenda.

Françoise Sullivan voit le jour le 10 juin 1925 à Montréal, première et unique fille d'une famille qui compte déjà quatre garçons de plus de dix ans. Elle est issue d'un milieu bourgeois; alors qu'elle était jeune, son père, avocat, était sous-ministre des Postes au fédéral. De son enfance, Françoise Sullivan garde un très bon souvenir.
